NASA Sets Date For Fresh Demos

The National Super Alliance (NASA) announced that it will hold demonstrations on Friday, November 10 to protest against the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

NASA wrote a letter to police requesting security during the protests adding that the march was part of their quest for justice.

The letter read, "the protests will be in Nairobi as part of our quest for electoral justice and an end to electoral impunity in Kenya."

"Your cooperation towards making the peaceful demonstration a success, in line with your responsibilities, will be appreciated."

In what was a landslide victory,  President Kenyatta garnered 7,483,895 Million votes, translating to 98.26% of the total votes cast'

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga got 73,228 votes, 0.96%, despite pulling out of the poll.

Mr Odinga withdrew his candidature just a few days to the exercise, leading to low voter turnout in his perceived strongholds.

In Counties such as Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay and Migori, voting did not take place as residents heeded the call to boycott the election
