He then asked his 27-year-old son to drive the car into the compound and park it well.
Police reports state that when he got into the car he was ambushed by an unknown number of people and was driven off.
Investigations are underway to determine the motive of the hijacking.
Cases of carjacking in Nairobi are not rare as in June this year, a matatu plying the Umoja - Nairobi CBD route hit headlines for all the right reasons after saving a couple from a hijacking experience along Jogoo road.
Njeri Mwangi, a motorist, revealed that she noticed a Silver Bluebird Nissan closely trailing her from Madaraka Estate and tried to speed off.
To her surprise, the car continued following her as she cruised along the largely deserted road at 11.30 pm.
Upon reaching Total Petrol station near Buruburu estate, she found a matatu fueling and told the driver that she was being trailed by an unknown car and needed escort to the nearest petrol station.
The driver agreed and after driving for a short distance to Manyaja Road, the car trailing them was nowhere in sight.
