President Uhuru Kenyatta has accused the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition of secretly pushing for a power-sharing deal through a petition filed by activist Okiya Omtatah.
Kenyatta, through his lawyer Fred Ngatia, claims that NASA is afraid of embarrassment after boycotting the polls and is hiding behind the activist.
“The real purpose of this suit is to force the first interested party (Uhuru) to enter into negotiations with NASA with a view to sharing power,” Ngatia stated.
“His case is an improper attempt to advance NASA’s political agenda, which is against the people’s rights to a democratic system of governance.
"He came to court to help NASA avoid criticism after sponsoring violence that made it impossible to conduct elections in four counties,” he added.

Omtatah, on the other hand, rubbished Ngatia's claims noting that the burden of proof lies with him.
"He should prove that in court. Those are unfounded claims that have no basis.
"The burden of proof lies with him. I am not working with NASA," remarked the activist while speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on Thursday.
Omtatah maintained that the October 26 election was illegal as the Supreme Court has no right to nominate a candidate.
He was referring to the withdrawal of NASA leader Raila Odinga from the polls, stating that fresh nominations ought to have taken place.
Mr Omtatah wants the election declared invalid, arguing that IEBC committed illegalities by including Odinga in the ballot and announcing results attributed to him when he had formally withdrawn from the race.
