Two weeks ago, Ngengi was also seen at Lake Nakuru after a helicopter crashed with several people on board.

He allegedly introduced himself as a 'state pilot' and stated that he was great friends with one of the pilots who died.

In a video aired by a local TV station, he stated that the late pilot was "a friend of ours, who we loved, and that's why I'm here."

On Tuesday, he stated that he was traveling from Nyeri and was being driven behind governor Gakuru's car when the accident happened

According to sources within the police, upon interrogation, it emerged that Ngengi was not a police officer but a con.

It is alleged that during Gakuru's accident, he was coming from Utawala when he got wind of the Kabati accident and drove there to speak with the media.

Police have also confiscated his car for further investigations.
