NASA Announces New Plan for Next Week

The National Super Alliance (NASA) has given Members of County Assembly (MCA) one week to approve the People's Assembly motion their counties.

Noting that four counties had already passed the motion, former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama relayed that the remaining 43 counties were expected to pass the motion before the end of the new week.

"The motion that has been circulated all over the country and has already been passed in Vihiga, Siaya, Homa Bay and Busia. We expect the remaining counties to debate the motion and pass it before the next week starting with Machakos where I come from, Mombasa and other counties," the former Senator noted.

He went on to declare that the team would also hold demonstrations in the course of the week, without giving a specific date.

He explained that the demonstrations would kick off because the Opposition is not a party in any of the election petitions set to be decided by the Supreme Court through the week.

"We are not part of the petitions because we are not looking at having negotiations at any given time with Jubilee, except on the basis of reforms in the IEBC to enable a free election to take place.

"There is no way you can ask for a nusu mkate (half loaf/negotiated government) when the full boflo (unsliced bread) is yours! How will you give bread to the one who has stolen it from you and ask for half? Therefore, it is a mistake to go around saying that NASA wants nusu mkate," he admonished.

The NASA leader also issued a threat against any plans to have President Uhuru Kenyatta sworn in as president, assuring that the Opposition would escalate economic sabotage.

"If Jubilee goes ahead to swear in Uhuru, the repercussions will be more serious. We are going to bring in more companies to boycott and that will have serious effects,"

Mr Muthama further announced that there would be a major rally at the Jacaranda ground in Nairobi's Eastlands area on Sunday.
