Total Cost of President Uhuru Kenyatta's Inauguration Revealed

Joseph Kinyua, the Head of Public Service, has announced that President Uhuru Kenyatta's inauguration will cost Sh300 Million.

The ceremony will be held at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani on Tuesday, November 28.

Mr Kinyua described the budget as 'modest' considering the magnitude of the event.

While addressing a press briefing at Kasarani on Friday, Mr Kinyua also revealed that they had invited all Presidential candidates who were contesting to lead the country in the last election.

He also urged the Opposition coalition to drop its plan to hold a major rally at Uhuru Park on the same day.

Mr Kinyua stated: "We have invited all the Kenyan people including all those who were looking to be considered (to be President) by the Kenyan people, not just NASA.

"For the people who want to move together, we really would plead that for that particular day, it is not necessary to have other events," he continued.

The Chief of Staff further called on Kenyans to attend the ceremony in their numbers, maintaining that security had been beefed up ahead of the event.

Kinyua stated that a travel update from the British Government cautioning its citizens on visiting Kenya was ill-advised.

At least 20 Heads of State are expected to grace the event.
