Former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo Opposes Raila Odinga's Swearing-in

Former Gem Member of Parliament Jakoyo Midiwo on Tuesday noted that he had a different opinion regarding Opposition Leader Raila Odinga's planned inauguration.

Speaking at NTV during the AMLive Show, Midiwo noted that he would embrace dialogue to prevent violence from re-occurring.

"I am of a different opinion. I would talk to Uhuru directly to stop the shenanigans, to stop the sideshows. To put all and sundry together and see how we can move forward

"All of us must sit down and say what is right for this country," he stated.

He, however, noted that the government should not take Mr Odinga's planned inauguration lightly or it will catch them by surprise.

"This war cry, that nothing will happen on 30th...you will find yourself in a hole you can't get yourself out of. The Raila Odinga of August 8, 2017, is less popular than the Raila of January 2018," Midiwo explained.

Other panelists who were at the interview included Miguna Miguna, Senators; Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho) and Kimani Wamatangi (Kiambu) and political analyst Prof Herman Manyora.

Senator Cheruiyot noted that there was no basis for swearing-in Mr Odinga adding that on January 30 no inauguration will take place.

"We can even take a bet that nothing like that (swearing in) will happen on January 30," he explained.

Prof Manyora on his part noted that nobody, especially the president, should allow such things to go on even the NASA inauguration.
