26 Tablets Donated by Jubilee Government Stolen at St Dalmas Primary School in Migori

26 tablets donated by the Jubilee Government were stolen during a night break-in at St Dalmas Primary School in Migori County.

Confirming the incident, the school's headteacher - Owiti Ogolla – noted that the watchman disappeared after the incident.

"We found pupils crying over the lost tablets. The night guards disappeared without a trace," he said.

Mr Ogolla disclosed to journalists that this was the eighth time thugs had robbed the institution adding that the last one they only stole textbooks.

In February, 46 tablets and a laptop were stolen at Mosobecho Primary School in Nandi County

According to the institution's headteacher, he was called by the security guard who informed him that the school had been raided.

"The thieves broke into the strong room where the gadgets were kept and made away with them on Saturday night. They also broke into the staff room and head teacher's office," stated the school head John Keino.

The tablets were distributed as part of President Uhuru Kenyatta's flagship project of having students in public primary schools use laptops.
