6 NASA MCAs Arrested Minutes After Boinnet's Order

Six Members of Makueni County Assembly (MCAs) were on Thursday arrested and taken to Kibwezi Police Station.

The ward representatives were detained moments after Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet ordered the arrest of all individuals trying to eject new school principals.

They were arrested when they had gone to meet Ministry of Education officials at St Joseph Girls Kibwezi.

The MCAs stirred chaos at the institution as they protested the admission of a new principal in the school.

The situation was quelled by Police Officers who used teargas to disperse the ward representatives who had taken over the school.

The security officers were also forced to beat up several MCAs who stormed the institution in order to manage the situation.

Elsewhere, drama unfolded at Friends' School Kamusinga Boys after Bungoma MCAs led goons in storming and ejecting the principal after which they locked his office.

The MCAs stormed the school on Wednesday and threw out Mr Alex Kariuki Maina, the new head posted to the school in Kimilili Constituency last week.

Kibingei MCA Aggrey Mulongo, Mr Stephen Wafula of Soysambu/Mitua Ward and nominated MCA Luke Opwora led the group.

Mr Mulongo affirmed that they would not allow the principal to work in the school accusing him of poor performance in his previous institution.
