7 People Uhuru Hangs Out With in Private

Most people know President Uhuru Kenyatta as the Head of State and often associate him only with the people they see around him during public functions.

Apart from his family, the President has a host of friends whom he hangs out with when he is not performing his official duties.

According to the Nairobian, most of the President's friends grew up with him in his childhood, went to the same school or are close family allies.

Here is a list of the President's seven friends that he hangs out with in private;

1. Jimmy Kibaki

He is the son of former President Mwai Kibaki.

President Kenyatta and Jimmy Kibaki both went to St Marys High School where they became great friends after suffering punishment in the hands of an Irish priest at the school.

The close family ties and sharing of one school created a lasting friendship between the two spanning until today.

2. Njee Muturi

He is the Solicitor General of the Republic of Kenya.

Mr Muturi is also an alumnus of St Mary's School and played a huge role in the President's political career having been his personal assistant for 11 years.

According to the publication, President Kenyatta always turns to Mr Muturi when he wants issues fixed at the Presidency.

3. Bruce Odhiambo

The music producer and former National Youth Fund Chair is a close friend of the Head of State.

He played a key role during the 2013 Presidential campaigns in which Mr Kenyatta emerge winner.

Mr Odhiambo also attended St Mary's where he met the young Kenyatta and became close friends.

4. William Kabogo

The former Kiambu Governor and President Kenyatta are old friends who met in Mombasa.

Kabogo's father was a Senior Civil servant and a close ally of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, a friendship which spilled over to their children.

5. Maluki Mwendwa

He is the son of former Chief Justice, the late Kitili Mwendwa.

Like Kabogo, the Head of State met Maluki in Mombasa where they grew up together.

Kitili is eyeing the Kitui West parliamentary seat after it was left vacant by the late Francis Nyenze.

6. Richard Ngatia

He is a close ally of the President and a wealthy businessman in the City.

Mr Ngatia owns entertainment joint Galileo lounge in Westlands and always appears in some of Uhuru's events.

Last year, he was among the invited guests who graced President Kenyatta's campaign dinner.

7. Stanley Kinyanjui

Mr Kinyanjui is also a key ally of the President and also the director of the outdoor advertising company, Magnate Ventures.
