New details have emerged on President Uhuru Kenyatta's plan for the Jubilee Party ahead of the 2022 General Election.
The President could stay on as Party Leader after the election and this could explain his noticeable commitment to fostering ties with other ruling parties such as the Communist Party of China (CPC), the African National Congress (ANC) and the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF).
Jubilee Vice-Chairman David Murathe confirmed that they expected President Kenyatta to lead the party even after his second term.
He stated: “We are confident that we will still form the next government, and we are therefore building our party to a big and formidable organisation, once President Kenyatta retires he will still be at the helm of the party leadership.”
President Kenyatta last week hosted senior CPC officials at State House, Nairobi where they signed several agreements.

CPC deputy director of policy and research Wang Xiaohui confirmed that the parties would be working together.
“We are ready to deepen collaboration mechanisms with the Jubilee Party,” Xiahui stated.
As part of the plan, the CPC will offer 20 scholarships annually to Jubilee Party officials to learn about grassroots mobilisation and party management.
The officials who will benefit from the scholarships will be identifies from the parties that merged to form Jubilee.
President Kenyatta attended a four-day annual conference in South Africa of the African National Congress (ANC) where he discussed collaboration with the Jubilee Party.
