Kenyans Complain About This Photo of Uhuru

Kenyans were on Wednesday up in arms after President Uhuru Kenyatta commissioned the National Cement Company’s Simba Cement Clinker Plant in Merrueshi, Kajiado County which cost Sh28 Billion.

Online users were dissatisfied with his project with some accusing President Kenyatta of dictatorship in his administration in light of Miguna Miguna's deportation.

"You are busy telling us about cement and your government is in dictatorial mode. I thought you were brilliant but the truth is someone thinks for you," one user wrote.

Another noted that the only thing that Kenyans needed at the moment was political stability and a united Kenya rather than the flagship projects.

"So what do we do with your cement? We want Miguna back with immediate effect! We honour our beloved president Raila Odinga," another user wrote.

The President opened the plant declaring that it would contribute significantly to his second term's plan for rebuilding and transforming the country.

"As part of my Big Four agenda, we renew our commitment to serving the needs of the people of Kenya. Within the next four years, we will build half a million new homes. Within the next four years, we will bring universal healthcare, so that no Kenyan family will ever again suffer, not knowing how they will pay for the care they need.

"Within the next four years, we will transform our agriculture and agro-processing, so that we can ensure Kenyans are food secure. And, to secure the jobs and skills that our sons and daughters need to become self-reliant and prosperous, we will build new industries such as these, and revitalize those that have fallen below the standards that Kenyans rightly expect.

"This plant will play its part in meeting the goals we have set out, and its impact will be felt not just in this county, but in the entire country," he conveyed.

However, other Kenyans expressed their satisfaction with Uhuru's project terming it a means of moving the country forward.

"His Excellency, may God grant you the energy and wisdom you deserve to move Kenya to great heights," one user stated.
