Raila Announces New Election Date and Kenyans React Hilariously

NASA leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday told BBC Hardtalk that he intends to call for a fresh presidential election and Kenyans on Facebook did not hold back speaking their mind regarding the assertion.

Odinga highlighted that through the people's assemblies and convention, the Alliance would highlight six issues including electoral justice, independence of the judiciary, reform of the police force, restructuring and strengthening devolution.

Besides, he expressed that NASA, through the people's convention, will restructure the executive powers and ensure there is ethnic inclusion in the country's governance.

In his remarks, Odinga expressed that the opposition does not recognize Uhuru Kenyatta's Presidency as it lacks legitimacy.

However, he distanced himself from an earlier statement claiming that he would appoint ministers to run a parallel government.

He further promised that NASA would issue out a schedule on the activities of people's convention in planning the election by August 2018.

Following the statement, some viewed the call by the "People's President" as a sabotage and undermining of his current position and "office" given that he took an oath to that effect.

As such, a new election would mean an end to his supposed tenure in the capacity of the people's president.

Others voiced their concern on other possible actions that Odinga is likely to take prior to announcing his next move given what has been witnessed in the past.

The unprecedented happenings made some Facebook users to read commedy and fun. To them, these latest developments equated to comedy and hence Kenyans needed to brave themselves for a hilarious future full of surprising episodes.

Interestingly, others alluded the dramatic deportation of self-declared NRM general Miguna Miguna to Canada on Tuesday night, and whether it should be an eventuality for those who defy the government.
