The President had travelled to South Africa in January for talks on trade, security and infrastructure development with Zuma.

Zuma had previously made a historic State visit to Kenya which witnessed the signing of six agreements and Memoranda of Understanding in various sectors.

President Kenyatta had also joined Zuma and Ramaphosa in marking the 106th anniversary of the ANC.

He resigned on Wednesday night after pressure was mounted on him to quit by the ruling African National Congress.

During his farewell address to the nation, Zuma stated that he disagreed with the way the ANC had forced him towards an early exit after the election of Cyril Ramaphosa as the party president.
