"Mweshimiwa Kirwa is on his way to full recovery, on high spirits, and in a couple of months he shall be back to discharge his normal  duties to the great people of Mosop constituency, Nandi county."

He ended his statement by thanking Mosop resident and Kenyans in general for their prayers, support, and messages of goodwill for the MP.

Cherargei's visit comes just a week after newly instated Basic Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok visited the MP during a duty tour to the US on March 27.

Taking to social media, Bitok also relayed that the MP was experiencing a steady recovery.

"While on my official tour of the USA, I visited Hon. Abraham Kirwa, MP for Mosop, at his home in Dallas, Texas. I was pleased to see his progress and wished him a speedy recovery and God's blessing," PS Bitok stated.

The actual illness the MP is recovering from has yet to be confirmed to the public as of the time of publishing of this article.

MP Kirwa is the second Kenyan elected leader believed to be currently in Texas on health-related issues after it was Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika was reported to be on her maternity leave in the same US state.

Her extended leave has elicited criticism and support in equal measure, culminating in a petition to US President Donald Trump to have her deported.
