Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya have called out the Kenyans who went to court to stop the Ksh 200 billion health deal with the United States of America.

Speaking during the commissioning of the Sololo Level 4 Hospital in Marsabit County on December 11, 2025, the two Cabinet Secretaries blamed the sponsors of the court petition for sabotaging government programs.

Mudavadi accused government critics of constantly halting government programs, claiming that the petitioners are insensitive of even daring to halt health programs.

"There are some Kenyans who wake up and think about how to sabotage the government on a daily basis; some even have gone to court to reject the health program that President Ruto got money to implement from the US," Mudavadi said.

Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya also criticized the petitioners, claiming that they were stopping the program at the expense of Kenyans suffering with health complications.

"It is saddening to see someone going to court to stop the UHC program while Kenyans are suffering in need of these services," Tuya revealed.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary revealed that other countries are signing similar deals with the United States, urging Kenyans to embrace the new health deal.

"Uganda has also gotten the deal. You want to stop Kenya's deal with the US while our neighbours have also signed a similar deal? Rwanda and other African countries shall sign the deal very soon," Mudavadi reiterated.

The PCS said that the deal aims at strengthening health facilities and providing essential medical products to help Kenyans access quality health services.

He further accused the petitioners of politicizing health matters. Mudavadi revealed that the government through the Attorney General shall successfully fight the petition in court.

The leaders have called on Kenyans to support President William Ruto's government programs and stop sabotaging them in court.

The Kenya-US Health Cooperation Framework has been temporarily halted by the High Court following an injunction sought by the Consumers Federation of Kenya (COFEK) and Senator Okiya Omtata.

The petitioners argue that the deal could expose sensitive personal health records like HIV status, TB history of millions of Kenyans to foreign entities, a harm they argue would be permanent and irreversible.
