Thirdway Alliance Party leader Ekuru Aukot on Thursday named his 22-man shadow cabinet, sparking various reactions from Kenyans online.
The former Presidential candidate had explained that his team would offer their services and expertise to Kenyans while checking the government of the day.
He described them as "well-educated Kenyans with a fresh train of thought who meet the criteria on leadership and integrity".
A section of Kenyans congratulated Aukot and his team, but many criticized him for taking up the role of the opposition when his party had no elected representatives.
Nairobi lawyer Donald Kipkorir expressed his dissapointment with Aukot's cabinet, saying it was not representative of the country's population.

"My friend Dr. Ekuru Aukot has unveiled his Cabinet: Luos:2; Kisii:6; Luhya:2; Kikuyu: 7; Kalenjin:1; Turkana:2; Indian: 1; Kamba:1: ...Only 8 tribes. No Coasterian, No Somali, No Maasai, No Meru, No Arab, No European ... And doesn’t reflect the population ratio. Am disappointed," Kipkorir tweeted.
"Before you do that show us any Governor, MP, Senator, Women Rep or even an MCA who has won a seat on your party's ticket. Otherwise, you are not the only comedian we have," another user posted.
One user commented: "The urge to remain politically relevant is making this man to think like less of an intellectual nowadays."
Others, however, backed Aukot's move, asserting that an alternative voice was needed in the country.
"This is what we waited for. Kenya must move forward with check & balances. This is best opposition of democracy. Minority say cannot be ignored," one of them noted.
