NASA leader Raila Odinga Justified to run in 2022 - Senator Fred Outa

Kisumu Senator Fred Outa on Tuesday disclosed that National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga was justified in vying for the presidency in 2022 because of the other principals' failure to turn up for the swearing-in ceremony on January 30.

Speaking at Ahero in Nyando sub-county, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) senator referred to Principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula as "the disciples who betrayed and denied Jesus at the time of his crucifixion."

The Senator explained that failure by the NASA co-principals to attend the oath ceremony freed Raila of any debt.

Adding that "Raila Odinga does not owe anyone a "political debt" in the 2022 presidential race."

"The swearing event was not an easy task as it required tough, dedicated and selfless leaders to attend," he stated.

The ODM Senator divulged that the ODM party was in a process of rebranding itself for the next election urging members to remain loyal to the outfit's ideologies.

He further stated that the fight for electoral justice was still on course and would not be shut down by the government.

"You will kill many of us but some will remain to realise our goal of having a free and fair election in Kenya. The journey to Canaan is tough but we are focused to relieve Kenyans from authoritarianism, oppression and corruption leadership."

"We should make good use of time, money and energy that we use in fighting one another to unite and empower our people," he added.

Earlier on Friday, Raila pointed out that ODM was ready to go alone during the 2022 General Elections if pushed.

In a telling message to other parties in the NASA coalition, Odinga was categorical that while his party was ready to work with like-minded parties, it was also ready to go alone if pushed.

"ODM leaders and supporters must without fear or apologies erect and fly the flag of justice, fairness and equity as only ODM can. We must be prepared to fight alongside other like-minded parties and individual. But we must also be prepared to fight alone should it come to that,” he stated.
