Facebook Introduces Job Search Feature in Kenya

Facebook has rolled out its job search feature to 40 more countries, including Kenya, United Kingdom (UK) and Brazil.

The feature was launched a year ago but was only available to users in Canada and the United States (US).

It allows users to apply for jobs directly through a personalized dashboard.

On the dashboard, one will find job postings listed by various businesses and will be able to create an application partly populated with information from your Facebook profile.

Once you apply, you will be put in direct contact with the business via messenger, and interviews can be scheduled as well.

The listings can be filtered by various criteria such as industry or job type (part-time, full-time, volunteer or contractual).

Businesses looking to find their next employees on Facebook will also have their own jobs dashboard.

Page administrators can create job posts directly from their page with details like job title, job type, salary and more.

They can also manage the applications, schedule interviews and get in touch with applicants via Messenger.

The new feature is seen by industry experts as a way for Facebook to compete with professional social network Linkedin which has never managed to be a platform used by low-skilled job seekers.
