Linus Kaikai's Message to Larry Madowo After Quiting Nation Media Group

Former NTV General Manager Linus Kaikai sent his former colleague and journalist Larry Madowo an advise about his future career.

Through a series of tweets, Kaikai, who left the media house on Wednesday, urged Madowo to keep his journalistic ethics geared towards meeting public good.

In particular, Kaikai asked Madowo to use his role in the media as an opportunity to voice the concerns of the voiceless and afflicted in the society.

To @LarryMadowo, stay true to the cause of Public Interest. That’s the sole sacred duty of Journalism. Each question you ever ask is NEVER on your own behalf but on behalf of that nameless man or woman on the street, who never has the opportunity to ask that same question.

On his part, Madowo applauded Kaikai indicating that he owed his success as a journalist to his former boss.

Madowo could not help disclosing the influence Kaikai had at NTV terming his exit as the end of an era.

"It’s the end of an era here. It will never be the same again. Goodbye and good luck!," Madowo tweeted earlier on following a farewell party at Nation Media Group.

I owe my whole broadcast career to @LinusKaikai; the best boss a journalist can ever ask for. I’m gutted to see him leave @ntvkenya today.

Earlier reports indicated that Kaikai was headed to replace Lands Cabinet Secretary Farida Karoney as the Operations Manager at Royal Media Services (RMS).

The former Manager continued to receive messages of goodwill from journalists especially those who worked under him at the media house.

NTV anchor Ken Mijungu, on his part, tweeted: "It’s been real boss. @LinusKaikai will miss your guidance and great attitude."
