Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru may be compelled to pay medical bills incurred by residents of her county in Embu.
According to Embu MCA Margaret Lorna Kariuki, Kirinyaga residents make up sixty percent of the patients treated in Embu Level Five Hospital.
The MCA further alleged that the health facilities in Kirinyaga County were inferior which necessitated Waiguru's constituents to seek alternative care in Embu.

"Embu county has to pay for their healthcare from our small budget, I guess we should think around this Kirinyaga inflow to Embu."
"Waiguru should foot part of our medical bills in that facility," the nominated MCA expressed her concern.
Kariuki further disclosed that she would push a motion to force Waiguru to pay for such medical expenses.
A report by The Star indicated that the Embu Level 5 CEO Moses Njue had affirmed that a large number of patients treated at the facility were from the neighbouring Kirinyaga county on a daily basis.
Kariuki further expressed that the situation was a political embarrassment to Kirinyaga county.
"It is paramount that Kirinyaga county works on improving their health facilities," she concluded.
