Radio Interview That Has Landed Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto in Trouble

Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has landed in trouble with incumbent deputy governor Hillary Barchok after Ruto bashed the county government during a radio interview.

Mr Ruto accused the new administration of slacking in finishing up projects that he started during his tenure.

He particularly cited the Bomet IAAF stadium which he claimed had stalled since he left office and demanded that the county administration ought to complete it.

According to Ruto, such mega projects would contribute toward turning the fortunes of the county once complete.

The former governor further faulted the county government for initiating new projects that he deemed to be a waste of the county's resources.

The DG told off the former governor alleging that he had left the county coffers empty as he exited from office.

Barchok told The Standard that the previous administration had accumulated debts that were yet to be settled to date.

"Some of the bills left by the former governor lack documentation and we have decided to stop payments and conduct an audit," the DG stated.

He remained adamant that Governor Joyce Laboso and her team would not take up the past regime's projects until the audit is complete.

He further told the former governor to quit lecturing the present administration.
