Muthama Reveals Kalonzo's Plan to Meet President Uhuru

Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has revealed that NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka is planning to reach out to President Uhuru Kenyatta to support his 2022 presidential bid.

Speaking to Citizen TV, Muthama disclosed that Kalonzo would seek Uhuru's possible support as part of the agreement made before the 2007 presidential election.

"Uhuru is going out as far as I am concerned, there is nothing wrong for Kalonzo going and reminding him (Uhuru) what happened in 2007 when he (Uhuru) was part of the agreement that was reached between Kalonzo and Kibaki," Muthama stated.

Put to task whether Kalonzo would reach out to everybody including their political rivals in Jubilee Party, Muthama asserted that they were not limiting their options.

"If you want to lead this country, you must move with an open mind and open hands.

To say irrespective of what was said yesterday, I am here to lead Kenya so I am out to reach everybody. That should be the beginning of your steps towards reaching out everyone in the country," he stated.

Muthama further clarified that although Kalonzo may not convince Mama Ngina and former President Moi to vote for him, he would seek their blessings in his bid to ascend to the helm as the President.

Asked whether Kalonzo was planning to quit NASA, Muthama affirmed that his presidential aspirations did not reflect any possible shift in Wiper Party's allegiance to the coalition.

"Anything in Kenya can change, that is the experience I have today and that is why I am confident that Kalonzo must stand firm and be a candidate from the word go," Muthama asserted.

The vocal politician also expressed optimism that the objection by Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on registration of the rebranded Wiper party as One Kenya Movement (OKM) would be inconsequential as the initials held a different meaning for the party in contrast to Murkomen's allegations.
