The court case against infamous serial killer Philip Onyacha has taken a fresh twist after a high court judge declared a mistrial.
In the Thursday ruling, Justice James Wakiaga ordered a fresh trial against the alleged "man-eater."
Onyancha had allegedly confessed to killing 19 women and one child but denied three other murder charges preferred against him by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
He was charged with three murder counts together with Tobias Nyabuhanga Aradi and Douglas Obiero Makori.

The trio, however, denied that on April 14, 2014 in Dagoretti, Nairobi, they killed 14-year-old Antony Njirwa Muiruri.
The first test on Onyancha was conducted at the time of his arrest and the report found that he was fit to stand trial.
When he appeared in court in 2010, his then lawyer, Peter Simani, informed the judge that Onyancha had a mental problem and needs to be re-examined.
On the other hand, Justice Wakiaga on Thursday sentenced former Githurai policeman Titus Musila Katitu accused of murdering a 27-year-old man to 15 years in jail.
He stated that the former officer would serve 12 years in custody and three years in probation.
Katitu will serve eight years having been in jail since 2014.
