Prophet Bushiri Set to Visit Kenya

Controversial Prophet Shepherd Bushiri is set to visit Kenya on April 17 for a revival crusade.

The Malawi-born preacher who runs Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Ministries is currently being investigated for money laundering in South Africa after it emerged that he was allegedly sending millions to his home country via a private jet.

ECG ministries has a branch in Kenya and will host the preacher between April 17- April 19.

Recently, Bushiri was accused of performing fake miracles but he shrugged off the allegations noting his ministry is not for everyone.

"My ministry is not for everyone, it is for those who have faith, he tells me. I'm just a messenger of God's work. God heals people in our meetings.

"One time I got doctors here in Pretoria to bring patients with HIV - they tested them before to show they are HIV, I prayed for them and again afterwards and now they were HIV-negative," he remarked.

In 2015, a video of him 'walking on air' was heavily criticised as he tried to prove he has supernatural powers.

Bushiri also claims that he can spiritually take pictures of people he has not seen using an Ipad.

In a recent investigative piece by BBC Africa, some staunch members of his church absolved him of blame, maintaining that he is indeed a man of God.

"The miracles and the teachings that our father [Prophet Bushiri] teaches every week are so amazing," stated a congregant in his church.

There is no readily available record of his net worth but he is known to have interests in several mines and owns four private planes and a number of hotels through his investment company Shepherd Bushiri Investments, headquartered in Johannesburg's plush suburb of Sandton.
