They proceeded to hammer Scotland 19-12 in the quarter-final on Sunday morning.

Fiji had seen off South Africa in the other semi-final, setting up a highly anticipated final.

Interestingly, Kenya beat Fiji in the final of the Singapore Sevens in 2016 to win their first ever main cup final.

Fiji also beat Kenya 31-12 in the last leg of the IRB Sevens circuit in Vancouver where Shujaa also made it to the final.

Kenya lost the final played at 2.00 PM to Fiji 12-24, with 2 yellow cards for Ambaka and Injera in the first half having given Fiji a 2-man advantage.
