President Uhuru Kenyatta was on Friday excited after Kenyan athlete Conseslus Kipruto took the gold medal for the 3000 metres men's steeplechase race at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The President led the nations in conveying his congratulatory message to the champions along with his colleagues Abraham Kibiwott and Amos Kirui who took the second and third place respectively.

The remarkable fete caused the champion to trend on the topic "Conseslus Kipruto".

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO Ezra Chiloba trended on Friday after the Labour and Employment Relations Court denied his application to have the IEBC reinstate him form his compulsory leave.

Justice Stephen Radido further certified Chiloba's suit as urgent as he scheduled it for a hearing at a later date.

Mr Chiloba is seeking to have the IEBC compelled to revoke his compulsory leave and declare the decision to send him on leave as illegal.
