Moses Kuria Explains How His Homa Bay Trip was Interrupted

Outspoken Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria's scheduled trip to Homa Bay on Saturday was temporarily interrupted after bad weather forced the chopper he was traveling in to take an emergency landing.

Kuria who was in the company of Rangwe Member of Parliament (MP) Lillian Gogo landed in Karachuonyo en route to Rangwe for a church service and fundraising event.

The two later on proceeded to SDA Kodienya Church, Rangwe, where they joined Homa Bay County Women Representative Gladys Wanga.

"Thank you Ja'Kochia. Let us continue building bridges of unity and understanding," Kuria posted on Facebook.

Kuria whose political career is marred by controversy was voicing support over the recent unity deal between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga

In a joint statement dubbed "Building bridges to a new Kenyan nation," Uhuru and Raila had promised to put aside their political differences in the best interest of the country.

The historical handshake has seen leaders from across the political divide such as Kuria and Wanga bury their political differences.

As the unity deal takes shape, Raila is expected to take a new as a special envoy for Africa at the United Nations (UN)

Deputy President William Ruto, however, had on Saturday disclosed that there would be no constitutional changes to accommodate "a few leaders" as a result of the deal.
