Police are looking into a case where Kirimukuyu Ward MCA Anthony Ndagita is accussed of assaulting his Magutu counterpart Pauline Wanjira.
Wanjira claims that the attack took place on Wednesday, 9th May at a bar in Arusha, Tanzania where members of the Nyeri County Assembly had gone for a training seminar.
According to Wanjira, Ndagita came at her with a broken bottle of an alcoholic drink.
Photos of her with a black eye and with her arm in a sling have since surfaced on the internet.
Wanjira flew back to Kenya on Thursday to seek treatment before filing a statement with Police.

She pinned the assault on unspecified supremacy battles in the county assembly.
Wanjira has previously accused Ndagita of assault but no arrests were made in connection with the matter.
Ndagita was among only 5 Nyeri MCAs who rejected the nomination of Caroline Karugu as Deputy Governor.
He argued that there were more qualified women and youth to fill the position that fell vacant after Mutahi Kahiga became Governor following the death of ex-county boss Wahome Gakuru.
Karugu's nomination, however, sailed through the house despite their opposition.
