Kathy Kiuna in Trouble Over Comment on Poor Kenyans

JCC pastor Rev. Kathy Kiuna on Sunday faced a lot of criticism on social media over a comment she made during a church service.

Through her official Twitter page, the well-known woman of God stated that there is no way you can remain poor if you tithe faithfully.

"Tithing is an obedience issue. You cannot be a tither, a sincere tither and remain poor," she remarked.

Her sentiments rubbed a section of Kenyans the wrong way as they claimed she was living off the tithe of her congregants.

"This Jesus you worship you should strive to be more like him and give up your wealth," wrote one netizen.

"True... Why tithe for u to drive a 23milli Range Rover getting rained on waiting to drive mine in heaven. There's no Cars n Manson's in heaven," wrote another.

In 2015, Kiuna was again put on the spot after she allegedly banned poor people from attending her church service.

She later came out to deny those claims, affirming that the church is open to people from all walks of life.

Her stylish nature has often been criticised by those who claim she advances the gospel of prosperity and the values she inculcates in women during conferences have been put under the microscope a number of times.

Kathy runs JCC in parklands area together with her husband Allan Kiuna.
