A section of National Super Alliance (NASA) affiliated leaders on Wednesday launched a retaliatory response to Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale.
This followed what they termed unwarranted attacks against NASA leader Raila Odinga.
During a joint presser held at Panafric Hotel, Kakamega Senator-elect Cleophas Malala, Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi, and ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna told off Wetangula urging him to leave Raila alone.

Sifuna accused "political brokers" of attempting to herd the Luhya community "into one tribal Boma so that they can auction us to the highest bidder."
"As the new leadership, we reiterate our call for the Luhya Nation to seek unity of purpose that will see us solve our long-standing challenges like poverty and education," Sifuna stated.
Their attempt to reprimand Wetangula and Khalwale, however, backfired as a section of their followers questioned their legitimacy to speak as the "new Luhya leaders".

Others, however, supported the need to rally the Western Kenya voter block on a common frontier for the sake of the community's welfare.
Speaking on Monday, Raila had indicated "There are politicians spearheading tribal politics by calling for the unity of some regions. This is cheap politics that will not help the country move forward."
However, Khalwale had indicated that it was necessary for the Luhya Nation to unite if they did not want to be spectators in 2022.
