Three hardcore criminals have escaped from Kamiti Maximum prison while a woman has been left nursing a gunshot wound.
The criminals are said to have escaped at 2am Friday night after cutting a metal grill of their cell, The Standard reports.
An alarm is reported to have gone off alerting the warders to go after the three prison escapees.
According to Kasarani OCPD Francis Sang, it was in the process of pursuing the inmates that a woman was shot and injured at Kahawa West area, Nairobi.
