A 36-year-old man was sentenced to 105 years in jail for subjecting three boys to sexual abuse and violence in Makengi Village, Embu County.
Paul Muriithi Karuga was sentenced by Senior Resident Magistrate Vincent Nyakundi to 35 years in jail for each of the three counts and the sentences to run concurrently.
Karuga was charged that he intentionally and unlawfully sexually assaulted the three boys, two aged 9 and the other 12 at the time of the abuse.

The court heard that on the first day, the accused waylaid the first boy who was coming from church and asked him to engage in “sex” but the boy fled.
Karuga then ran after and caught up with the boy, carried him on his shoulders and took him to the bush where he sodomized him.
The following day, Muriithi, ambushed two brothers who had been sent to the shop by their grandmother in the evening, snatched away their torch and, as one escaped, he grabbed the other and sexually assaulted him.
On the third day, while commandeering an ox-cart, the accused met the third victim who was also headed to the shop and asked him to climb onto the cart and drove him into the forest and sodomized him.
The boys reported the incidents to their parents who reported the matter to the Manyatta Police Station.
