Reports of Ngirita Foundation Organizing Medical Camp Cause Outrage

There has been outrage across the social media after reports emerged alleging that a new humanitarian organization has been registered in Naivasha under the name of 'Ngirita Foundation'.

Sources indicated that the philanthropic 'Ngirita Foundation' has been donating sanitary towels, medical disposables, food supplies, diapers for the elderly, and sponsoring free medical camps in Mirera, Karagita and Kihoto in Naivasha.

In particular, a poster doing rounds on social media indicated that the organisation was planning a free medical camp on June 16 at Mirera Primary School, Naivasha.

The poster alleges that the said medical camp will be carried out in partnership with Red Cross, Mama Care, Lions International, among other reputable humanitarian organizations on Saturday between 9 am and 5 pm.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, however, John Mwikwabe from Kenya Red Cross Naivasha Sub Branch denied any affiliation with the alleged 'Ngirita Foundation'.

"We have no knowledge of them neither have we been in contact with anyone from the alleged organization," he clarified.

Mwikwabe further revealed that they have been in contact with Mirera Primary School, the alleged venue of the free medical camp.

"Mirera Primary School are not expecting any medical camp. So we are not sure whether even the poster genuine or it was maliciously designed for propaganda.

Red Cross further condemned the usage of their logo without their knowledge or approval terming it "a violation of what the organization stands for".

The official further indicated that the Kenya Red Cross Society was not aware of any of the alleged activities of the organization on the ground.

"We are always on the ground working with different organizations, but I have not come across any of their charitable activities," he noted.

Mwikwabe concluded that even if the organization was in existence, the Red Cross Society would not partner with them at the moment given the controversy following the National Youth Service (NYS) scandal where the Ngirita's are widely mentioned.

Here are some of the reactions from netizens:

The Ngiritas now suddenly have a "Ngirita Foundation" which is busy giving out sanitary towels to schools in Mirera, Karagita and Kihoto. This is ahead of planned demos in Naivasha "by the public" to demand they be given bail.#MtuWetuNonsense

what baffles me is how the ngiritas appear in court beaming with overflow of makeup. I even doubt if they are in custody

Such kind of impunity would see me as President phone the CJ and duly request a life sentence. Contrition is character in such matters

The masterminds of these demos should be arrested and their MPESA transactions scrutinized. This hogwash must come to an end.

When you give to charity,no one seems to think or question how dirty your money is.
People will sell you drugs and when they’ve made a kill off you n you are hooked, they offer to take you to rehab and we will sing praises to the same drug barons guised as rescuers.
