Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen was on Sunday sent on a Twitter rant after a follower issued what he took to be a threat on his life and reputation.
An article in one of the local dailies had described Senator Murkomen's comeback to a trending hashtag #WeKnowYourSalary that was propagated by pro-lifestyle audit netizens through the week.
Murkomen, who took the chance to state that "no one ever became rich from his salary" became an easy target for trolls as the hot topic continued to spark debates.
Twitter user @nalianya_aggrey offended the senator after tweeting: "@kipmurkomen go slow or else we will dismantle you badly," which the Senate majority leader took as bullying.

Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi also came to back the senator against naysayers arguing that Murkomen was a self-made success story and he deserved respect.
"Sen Murkomen is in his 30s..is a leader of the Kenyans Senate...a lawyer of repute...and is former law school lecturer...he is self-made...what can you dismantle...when you are nobody...nothing?" Ahmednasir posed.
Ahmednasir's post further caused split reactions as some commentators shared screenshots of past brawls between himself and Mr Murkomen.
@GregoryMunene2 commented: "Nobody is bullying you, pastor!!! We just need a lifestyle audit of all public officers and it's not related to 2022 succession politics, if it is then the prey must camouflage."
