Thugs are reported to have broken into the official residence of Nyeri County Assembly Speaker John Kaguchia in Gamerock.
The thugs are reported to have invaded the Speaker’s home and vandalized his property luckily Kaguchia and his family was not around during the 2 am incident.
Kaguchia and his family had travelled to Nairobi where the Speaker was scheduled to have an interview with a local TV station Monday morning.
According to the Speaker’s communication team, the thugs harassed a security officer stationed at the home, drove him out of the compound in a saloon car before dumping him near Nyeri Inn.

Police have since begun investigations and hunting for the suspects.
Back in January Nyeri residents maintained they were living in fear due to frequent attacks by criminals with cases of carjacking and kidnap have increased in the Town.
Residents blamed the attacks on a gang of five armed men, alleged to be aged between 20 and 30.
The gang has been targeting residents when they return home from work before they kidnap them and demand cash before releasing their victims.
At least five families were reported to have been attacked by the gang that was alleged to being armed with AK 47 rifles, pistols and other crude weapons.

Other than guns, the criminals are also said to be armed with axes. They rob their victims and hold some hostage until a ransom is paid.
