Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguriu is not at peace as a result of the conduct of her 10-member cabinet that she has warned will be sacked.
The agitated Governor, in a heated lecture to the county executive committee (CEC) members, read the riot act warning that they risk being fired should they fail to embrace her new directive.
The county boss expressed concern after learning that a number of the county CECs were spending most of their time in Nairobi and could report to work late into the day.

Members of the Kirinyaga County Assembly have in the recent past complained of poor performance and lack of commitment in Governor Waiguru’s cabinet.
"If you are a cabinet member in Kirinyaga County, you should live in Kirinyaga county...don't walk to the office at 9.00 am and you start telling me that you commute from Nairobi. You took a job in Kirinyaga and not Nairobi so I expect you to be in the office by 8.00am," Governor Waiguru told the CECs.
A number of the CECs have also been accused of failing to take up and use funds on various development projects under their respective dockets. Some of the departments in Waiguru’s government have slow absorption of funds and were standing in the way for the delivery of her administration's agenda.
Waiguru also warned: “Unless we see meaningful changes within the stipulated time frame, I will have no alternative than to crack the whip for the sake of Wanjiku who gave us these jobs to serve her.”
The County CEC for Transport is among those the governor has put on the alert over failure to have at least 217 kilometers of road built in the county within the first six months in office as had been pledged in the campaigns.
In the joint address to the CECs and MCAs, governor Waiguru said this was one of the key projects whose realization had been delayed.
In the face of the CECs stands an overwhelming public expectation for delivery of services which the governor maintains must be met.

MCAs backed the governor's contention stating that some of the departments had not even presented their budgetary proposals for considerations.
