Jubilee party leaders in Murang’a County are rallying behind former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth for a government position.
Led by Gatanga MP Joseph Nduati, the leaders have asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to consider Peter Kenneth in his government citing his track record while serving in parliament.
Speaking at Kiunyu PCEA Church in Gatanga during the weekend, the leaders held that given his support for President Kenyatta, Kenneth deserved a state job.

"Kenneth is a supporter of President Kenyatta and a performer hence should be considered to be part of the government," stated Nduati.
Murang’a County Women Representative Sabina Chege urged Kenneth to take time traversing the county which she is considering as left behind in development.
Chege further noted that Murang'a had remained sidelined in national politics despite having played a role in helping the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta ascend to power.
Peter Kenneth, who was in attendance at the function, encouraged the head of state to step up further his fight against corruption.
He noted that there is a need to limit bail rights for leaders implicated in graft, suggesting that they should be held to a time they are cleared.
“Those misappropriating public funds should face the law. There is also need to deny bail to culprits facing corruption charges. Let them remain behind bars until the conclusion of cases,” stated the former MP while urging leaders not to concentrate on the Uhuru succession politics.
