He was then rushed to Amukura Mission Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The body was later taken to Moi Referral and Teaching Hospital in Eldoret.

The soft-spoken judge had served for Ojaamong’s for four years and was the first judge to come from the Teso region.

He was appointed as judge in 1996 by retired President Daniel Moi.

Governor Ojaamong’ stated that his death was a big loss to his family, friends, country and all those who knew him in the legal fraternity.

“He was a brilliant legal mind who discharged his duties diligently at the bar and when I brought him on board to assist me on certain things in the county government,” the governor lamented.

Justice Etyang was among the 11 High Court Judges who resigned in 2003 to avoid facing a tribunal on allegations of graft and abuse of office.

Justice Aaron Ringera implicated 23 judges who were involved in corruption in a report he handed over to former President Mwai Kibaki.
