The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) board has been accused of hiring an individual with fake documents to manage one the most sensitive sections of the body.
Peter Jabone Mbugua Njenga was employed as General Manager of Operations and Maintenance with a task to oversee a Ksh10 Billion portfolio with more than 600 engineers.
He worked for 18 months earning a monthly salary of about Ksh1 Million.

Njenga alleged to have worked with top US engineering firms but on investigations, the claims were found to be false.
In his job application, he beat 25 applicants by claiming he had a Master’s degree in Science and Engineering Management from the University of Huston in Texas.
He indicated he had a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Prairie View A&M University of Texas and a certificate from Texas Society of Professional Engineers.
In his CV, he mentioned Petroleum Principal Secretary Andrew Kamau as one of his referees.
The information was disclosed after an internal audit and according to a letter to KPC, the Commission for University Education stated that it did not recognize Prairie View A&M University.
The Engineers Board of Kenya affirmed that Njenga was not a registered with the board, a requirement for the position.
According to a report by the Star, he had used different names in his National ID and passports.
Njenga was suspended on October 9, 2017, after members of the public lodged complaints about irregularities in his hiring.
He was silently asked to resign in February 2018 after being paid a three month’s salary and leave days.
On Tuesday, the DCI summoned former MD Charles Tanui to explain how the current Company Secretary Gloria Khafafa was hired as a legal officer without the necessary papers.
