Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja announced corrections and additions in the police recruitment that had been omitted in the previous advertisement published on Tuesday, November 4.
In a fresh notice issued on Friday, November 7, Kanja noted that, besides the recruitment of the current National Youth Service (NYS) applicants, consideration will also be given to former NYS candidates.
Kanja urged former NYS candidates to present themselves to either their respective home sub-county recruitment centres or the NYS Headquarters in Ruaraka, Nairobi County.
The Police IG also made corrections to three recruitment centres. In Kajiado West Sub-County, the recruitment will now take place in Ole Polos Centre.
Similarly, in Elangata Wuas and Narok West sub-counties, recruitments will take place in the Deputy County Commissioner's office and Ng'osuani centre, respectively.
While announcing the aforementioned changes, Kanja reiterated that all other information contained in the earlier advertisement remains unchanged, including the recruitment date.
Kenyans seeking to apply for the vacancies were directed to download and fill out the prescribed application form that is available on the NPS website.
Upon filling the forms, applicants must present themselves at the designated Recruitment Centres with original and copies of their academic certificates and national identity card.
To apply, one must also be a Kenyan citizen, own a Kenyan ID, be between the ages of 18 and 28, and have a minimum Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCE) grade of D+
They must also be physically and medically fit, have a minimum height of 5feet and 8 inches, while females must be at least 5 feet and 3 inches tlla with both genders are required to have a clean criminal record.
Kanja announced that the recruitment drive is free and open to all eligible and qualified candidates, further warning that any individual found engaging in bribery or any form of corruption would be liable to an office.
The Police IG also warned that any person who wilfully gives to the police service any information which is false or misleading in any form will be committing an offence and will be prosecuted.
