Brain Cell 1 Trend on Twitter Excites Kenyans

Kenyans were, for the better part of Tuesday and early Wednesday morning engaged in a top trending topic on Twitter dubbed "Brain Cell 1".

Netizens posted well-meaning thoughts initiated by brain cells that ended up in a completely opposite reaction from their mouths.

Various posts depicting everyday life situations that ended up awkwardly when the mouth did not follow what the brain cells intended.

One of the tweets that got the highest number of reactions was by a handle @KapukaFacts that seemed to touch on hit songs with plain lyrics.

The post that seemed to have kicked up the storm on Twitter inspired many others to share jokes in the same format.

Another widely shared post by @NyokabiWainaina read: "Brain cell 1: Say you're sorry Brain cell 2: Say it was a slip of the tongue Me: Sasa hutaniongelesha (So you won't talk to me)?"

Some social media users could not pass on the opportunity to ridicule politicians on the trend as they strang along Nyali Member of Parliament (MP) Mohamed Ali.

@FredAsira tweeted: "Moha Jicho Pevu: Brain cell 1: When I get to parliament, I will expose all corrupt deals. Brain Cell 2: You're in Parliament, expose them. Mouth: Wakenya, mna akili ndogo kama sabuni ya lodging."
