Deputy President William Ruto's recent remarks about his 2022 bid have caused excitement among Kenyans across social media.
Speaking in Baringo County the DP indicated that "I have a lot in my brain in terms of agendas to move this country forward".
While opining that some of his competitors have continued spreading propaganda and "unworthy politics" Ruto rallied the residents: "I need your support so I can get the strength to serve all Kenyans."

His sentiments have, however, attracted great ridicule from netizens who have pointed out that the DP is already in a position of power hence should show exemplary service at his current capacity.

The pretentious nature of our African leaders is astounding. They promise economic transformation in the future, yet ignore the fact that they should be working on this on a daily basis as leaders. Why on earth should we wait for a transformed Kenya to commence from 2022!

In his speech, the DP reiterated that the elections season ended last year so it is time for leaders to focus on delivering their promises to the electorate.
Baringo North MP William Cheptumo who was among the leaders accompanying Ruto stated: "The people of Baringo are aware of your plans in the 2022 election. We will support you."
Senator Gideon Moi who represents Baringo County is rumoured to be equally eyeing the Presidency in the future.
On their part, the DP's allies have received heavy criticism in the recent past over what is seen as an premature kick off of the 2022 campaigns.
However, Ruto has clarified that his regular tours across the country are part of his mandate as the Deputy President of Kenya.
