REVEALED: Why DP Ruto Visited Kisumu at Night

Deputy President William Ruto reportedly spent over 8 hours attending an invite-only wedding in Kisumu in the middle of the night.

According to Standard, the DP travelled to Kisumu without his motorcade to attend the wedding involving two prominent Indian families.

The DP who was accompanied by his wife Rachael Ruto attended the wedding at the Simba Club hall next to the United Mall complex in the lake side town.

His travel had been maintained highly confidential that even Kisumu Deputy Governor Mathews Owili and Ruto's Press Secretary David Mugonyi were reportedly unaware of his attendance.

Ruto was reportedly driven to the event in a Toyota Land Cruiser V8 belonging to one of the local businessmen through Kakamega-Kisumu road via Kondele.

The DP's disguised travel on Wednesday did not attract any attention in Kisumu although the security around Simba Club was on high alert.

"We have come here to celebrate the two youngsters who are in the process of forming their family, which is a unit of socialisation in our society.

"My presence here with my wife is to demonstrate that we value the Christian love and recognise the family as the unit of socialisation," the DP is quoted telling the gathering.

The elaborate Asian wedding ceremony that started on Monday continues into the weekend with the main wedding ceremony being on Saturday.
