A Kenyan Journalist on Thursday landed in trouble while in Nigeria covering an international event.
Nation Media sports Editor Elias Makori stated that all was not well in West Africa after he was declared as a hostile guest.
Makori, a leading sports journalist in Kenya, has been in Nigeria keeping a close eye on the controversies that have rocked the 21st African Athletics Championships in Asaba.

While on his 25th year at the sports desk at Nation Media, Makori has been on numerous international assignments but for the first time, his passion for games has landed him a 'hostile' label from host officials.
Makori sent out a statement through his social media pages indicating the experience was turning worse for his assignments at the championships.
"Solomon Ogba, chairman of the Local Organising Committee for Asaba 2018, has just labeled me as "hostile" for seeking to know why the organization of the 21st African Athletics Championships has gone awry. Are we supposed to keep silent and praise the Chief?" wondered the Editor in his statement.
When reporting on the troubles meted on athletes in Asaba, Nigeria, the Editor took an interesting lead to his story appearing on Daily Nation. Dejected by the events, Makori castigated the planning of the event.
"Whoever gave Asaba the rights to host this year's Africa Athletics Championships must see a doctor. Organizers at the Delta City State have conjured up an excellent manual on how not to host an international competition by throwing into motion a horrendous protocol and hospitality for arriving athletes, officials and media," he reported the daily.
This is after the organizers left hundreds of athletes stranded at the Murtal Mohamed International Airport for several hours.
The airport is 500km away from Asaba, but the guests could not get special charters to the hosting town, Asaba.
Makori had described the scenes as "the worst ever advertisement for African athletes" despite the fact that Asaba had the requisite resources.
