Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa Among Counties to Experience Rain in the Next Five Days - Kenya Met

The Kenya Meteorological Department has urged residents in several regions across the country to brace for continued rain and showers in the next five days.

In its weekly forecast, the department noted that major towns such as  Kisumu, Nairobi, Mombasa, Machakos, Nakuru, Lodwar, among others, will experience rains from Tuesday, November 4, until Saturday, November 8.

Rains and showers are expected in most parts of the week in Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi counties, during the day and night; however, sunny conditions might prevail on Wednesday and Thursday morning, while Tuesday and Wednesday night are expected to be cloudy.

According to the weatherman, the maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to hit 30°C, while the minimum will be 09°C.

Showers are expected to be experienced throughout the week, both during the day and night, in Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale counties, as well as Tana River County, according to the weatherman.

These counties are expected to record maximum temperatures of 32°C and minimum temperatures of 22°C.

In Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot counties, sunny intervals are expected to prevail on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning in some areas. However, showers and rains accompanied by thunderstorms are expected to hit for the rest of the week, both during the day and night.

The maximum temperatures during this period in these counties are expected to be 30°C, while the minimum will be 09°C.

On Tuesday, daylong sunny conditions and cloudy conditions are expected in Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta counties, as well as the inland parts of Tana River County. On Wednesday and Thursday morning will be sunny, but showers will be experienced in these areas for the rest of the week, both during the day and night.

According to the weatherman, the maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be 33°C, while the minimum will be 14°C.

Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo counties are likely to experience rain for most parts of the week, apart from Thursday, when it is expected to be sunny throughout the day. The maximum temperature is expected to be 38 °C and the minimum of 17°C.

Turkana and Samburu counties are expected to experience sunny conditions until Thursday, but some areas might experience showers on Friday and Saturday. According to the weatherman, the maximum temperature in these areas will be 36°C, while the minimum temperatures are expected to be 11°C.
