Miguna Miguna Reveals How Joseph Nkaissery Funded His Campaign

Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna on Tuesday revealed how the late Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Joseph Ole Nkaissery donated Ksh500,000 to fund his gubernatorial campaign.

According to Miguna, Nkaissery's donation to him in 2017 was the highest single donation he received in his race to ascend to the helm of Nairobi County.

"Days before he was murdered, we met at the Ole Sereni Hotel for lunch and he told me that there was a plot designed to rig the 2017 election," he claimed.

Miguna further claimed that the late Interior CS had confided to him that the government would "use the security forces to brutally suppress the imminent uprising".

"Nkaissery told me that he would not allow anyone to use him like they had used General Hussein Ali during the 2007/8 post-election violence.

"He was determined not to repeat Ali's "grievous errors" as he called them," Miguna alleged of the Ole Sereni Hotel meeting.

Miguna alleges that General Nkaissery was likely injected with a lethal chemical on his way home which saw him collapse dead due to "cardiac arrest".

The lawyer, who was deported to Canada, further claims foul play in Nkaissery's death which like that of his predecessor George Saitoti, occurred under controversial circumstances.

In his opinion, the contradicting statements between the government's position, his security detail and his wife raised questions about his death.

"Genuine friends must seek justice for their departed comrades. I'm a genuine friend. I stand with General Nkaissery. Long Live The General. Justice will and must be done," Miguna quipped.
