Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso on Tuesday outlined her achievements in the year since taking over from her predecessor Isaac Ruto.
Laboso outlined that she had straightened out a major blunder left behind by the former governor as far as administrative structures are concerned.
"We did not find any structures relating to the employment of staff and procurement of goods and services.
"The first thing we did was conduct a staff audit which revealed that the county was overstaffed and the employees were performing duties which did not match with their skills," she outlined.

The governor further explained that a result of the changes her administration had managed to drastically reduce the wage bill for the county.
She added that the move to make cuts in the labour force at the county offices attracted tedious lawsuits from workers who were discovered to have not been hired by the county public service board.
"We were slapped with a litany of cases in the High Court when we did not renew staff contracts, but we have weathered the storm on that front and we are now recruiting through the public service board as required by law," she told Daily Nation.
She further assured the residents of her county that she was still committed to accomplishing the items listed on her manifesto.
"In my manifesto, I identified key areas as health, provision of water, education and infrastructural development and we have since realigned with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s four development pillars – housing, health, agriculture and industry.
"I was elected on the platform of change and I wish to assure the residents of Bomet County that indeed, the change I promised will be delivered. We are on course to fully implement our development agenda," she stated.
