President Uhuru Kenyatta Introduces Female Aide De Camp

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday appeared in public for the first time with a female Aide De Camp (ADC).

At the Sagana State Lodge in Nyeri County where the best pieces from the just concluded Kenya National Music Festival were performed, the aide de camp sat behind the President keenly following events.

The lady is President Kenyatta's new Assistant ADC Lieutenant Colonel Rachel Nduta Kamui.

Uhuru was entertained by students from various schools who presented the best items in the music festival's dance, music, public elocution and poetry classes.

Those to perform for the President were picked from finalists who performed at a gala event on Thursday at the Dedan Kimathi University as well as other pieces that received impressive reviews.

In July, Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Stelu Lekolol from the Kenya Navy was named as Uhuru's new ADC.

He was the first ADC in Kenyan history to have come from the Navy.

Lekolol became Uhuru's 3rd ADC after Lt-Col Victor Mburu and Lt-Col Peter Njiru.

Around the same time Lekolol's appointment was announced, another first for Kenyan women was achieved by Fatuma Ahmed who was sworn in as a KDF Major-General.

She was promoted to become Assistant Chief of the Defense Forces for Personnel and Logistics.

Speaking at the Swearing-in ceremony, Uhuru stated: "Let other women see that there are no limits. May you be a great inspiration".
