KTN's Abby Agina Appointed Business Editor

Renowned KTN business anchor Abby Agina has landed a new position as the head of business in the Mombasa Road-based TV station.

Agina’s new role is to lead the business desk in formulating content for the business segment at KTN and KTN News.

The 33-year-old joined KTN in November 2014 from NTV.

He joined Nation Media Group in 2010 as an intern at Daily Nation from Moi University, where he studied Information Science, specialising in media and publishing.

In December 2011, he was posted to NTV business desk after undergoing the defunct Media Lab graduate trainee programme.

A year later n 2012, he won the East African Broadcast Reporting Award at the fifth Media Summit held in Kigali.

In 2013, he was awarded as the overall best reporter in East Africa during the EAC Media Awards in Kampala, Uganda, for his report titled the ‘Untold Tales of Truck Drivers’.

The journalist replaces business editor Peter Wakaba who recently joined BBC.

Wakaba joined the growing list of journalists who have joined the international media house to run its operations in East Africa.

Other KTN journalists who are beneficiaries of BBC’s revamping include sports reporter and anchor Lyn Wachira, Michelle Ngele and Fathiya Mohamed Nur.
